Why Locals Love Damas Mediterranean Kitchen
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Liverpool at 79 Back Renshaw Street, Damas Mediterranean Kitchen is a delightful culinary gem specializing in authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors. This cozy restaurant not only entices with its rich heritage cuisine but also invites diners into an atmosphere that’s both warm and inviting, making every meal a comforting escape.
Damas Mediterranean Kitchen excels in crafting dishes that are bursting with flavor and crafted with care. Among the standouts is the Lamb Kebab Lahem Meshwi, succulent grilled kebabs served alongside fresh salad and your choice of rice or crispy French fries. The meat strikes the perfect balance—firm yet juicy, with a luscious, subtle fat content that’s anything but greasy. Each bite delivers an aromatic explosion that lingers on the palate, transporting you straight to the Mediterranean shores.
For poultry lovers, the Chicken Shawarma is a must-try. Thinly sliced, marinated chicken is grilled to perfection, offering a satisfying, tender texture paired wonderfully with a fresh salad and fries. Vegetarian and vegan guests will feel equally catered for with a creative selection of burgers, including the Falafel Burger, Halloumi Burger, and even a Falafel and Halloumi combo. Each burger arrives with crisp chips, vibrant salad, and a creamy tahini sauce that ties everything together harmoniously.
Salad options are refreshing and authentic, perfect as a starter or a side. The Fattoush with fresh tomato, cucumber, onion, and mint offers a palate-cleansing crunch served with warm pita bread. Meanwhile, the Tabbouleh bursts with bright lemon and finely chopped parsley; a perfect light, zesty complement to the smoky, grilled mains. The Greek Salad adorned with feta and olives provides a rich, tangy contrast, rounding out the meal beautifully.
The dining experience at Damas Mediterranean Kitchen is enhanced by a welcoming staff who bring a genuine friendliness to the table, making every visit feel personal and relaxed. Customers regularly praise the value, with reports of generous portions and reasonable pricing that match the high quality. One guest fondly recalls the “star of the meal” being the rich and flavorful okra soup, while another appreciates the BYOB policy that adds a flexible charm to the evening.
Whether you’re seeking a hearty meal filled with authentic Middle Eastern spices or a cozy spot to share vibrant vegetarian dishes with friends, Damas Mediterranean Kitchen invites you to indulge in a sensory journey. The sizzling grills, the fragrant herbs, and balanced flavors combine to create a memorable dining affair that keeps locals and visitors returning time and again.

Went last week for dinner. Food was really nice and filling. Prices are good too for what you get. We had the £13.99 2 course menu. Both lamb dishes. The star of the meal was the okra soup... Had a bit of trouble with bank transfer because the card machine was broken. Would prefer if we were told before dining. Other than that, food were great and staff were decent.

The food was excellent, tasty and good value. They have a range of vegetarian and vegan options and everyone there is very friendly. It's always a pleasure to visit when I'm in Liverpool.

Came for an early dinner with my Mum this evening, as a walk in. I didn't find it straight away but that was completely my fault - the location has been updated on Google but I didn't look properly! It's the same building but at the back, so you need to walk up Oldham Street and turn left. The owner was friendly and welcoming and it's still BYOB (with a very reasonable corkage fee), so makes it great value for meal out. Both mains were delicious and I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Cosy place with nice music, very friendly waiter and amazing food. I had a huge chicken wrap but there's also a lot of vegetarian options that are just delicious. No matter how full you feel - desserts are the must :)

The most delicious Falafel & Halloumi wrap of my life. So incredibly tasty and substantial. Very good value for money. Eaten here twice this week and will again for sure. The staff hand draw little notes which is so adorable and a very nice touch. 10/10

Tried the arayes, shish taouk and kofta kebab. Everything was delish and well priced. Would definitely go back again just bear in mind that the service is a little slow

Good spot to drop into if you’re in the area but can’t say i’d go out out my way to come here. Nothing special but food is still good. The staff were really sweet and the restaurant is decorated nicely. Was quite empty both time i’ve been so I definitely think it’s underrated.
